MAGERS, Lorran S., 88, of Virginia St., Moundsville died Sunday, September 29, 2013 in Moundview Health Care Center.
He was born August 15, 1925 on Fork Ridge, Moundsville, the son of the late Edgar and Myrna Peters Magers.
He was a retired machinist from the former Louis Marx Toy Company, where he worked for 29 years; a member of the Ash Avenue Church of God; and a veteran of the US Air Force, serving during WWII.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita P. Magers; a sister, Pauline McWhorter; and a brother, James Magers.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara (Bill “Pete”) Reynolds of Moundsville; Terry Magers Straface of Moundsville; two brothers, Ivan Magers of Colorado, John (Sherry) Magers of California; a sister, Helen (Harold) Bennett of Senecaville, OH; four grandchildren, Leslie (Curtis) Allen, Jason (Jody) Reynolds, Geoffery (Victoria Grall) O’Brien, Tiffany (Shawn Ashmore) O’Brien; five great-grandchildren, LaRisha Allen, Hunter Allen, Xzavior Ashmore, Jaylese Reynolds, and Jael Reynolds; several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville, where funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Scott Haynes officiating.
Interment in Riverview Cemetery, Moundsville, where Moundsville Honor Guard will conduct military graveside services.
