John Hawk

HAWK, John William, 70, of Magnolia, TX, died October 8, 2013, in Tomball, TX.

He was born April 12, 1943, in Wheeling, WV, the son of the late Fredrick “Fritz” Hawk and Agnes (Schmid) Hawk.

John served in the United States Air Force in the 1960s. In the 1970s he served as the Post Commander of the American Legion Post 46 in Benwood, WV. He earned his degree from Wheeling College. John moved to Tomball, TX in 1980 and retired in 2005 from the Harris County Sheriff Department in Houston, TX as a Deputy Sheriff. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Magnolia.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Hawk.

He is survived by his wife, Dianna (Pfeffer) Hawk; two daughters, Jonna Hawk and (Wade Rotholz) of Burleson, TX, Janice (Mike) Mucheck of Wheeling, WV; his grandchildren, Seth (Vivian) Hawk of Spring, TX, Chrissy Mucheck of Wheeling, WV and Sam and Hannah Rotholz of Burleson, TX, Sarah Rotholz of Houston, TX and Shaun (Angie) Rotholz of Spring, TX; a sister, Kathy (Jack) Sawyer of Vienna, VA; and a brother, Bill (Kitty) Hawk of Benwood, WV.

He has three stepchildren, Richard (Jennifer) Davis of Magnolia, TX, Leigh (Jerome) Urbanosky of Plantersville, TX and Marcy (Dustin) Johnson of Plantersville; seven step- grandchildren, Wayne, Kaitlin and Abby Davis of Magnolia, TX, Daniel and Joshua Dean of Plantersville, TX and Brittany and Lane Johnson of Plantersville, TX.

Private services and interment will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling, where Moundsville Honor Guard will conduct Military graveside services.
