HOYMAN, Kathleen Flint, 96, of Wheeling passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Donnell House in Washington, PA.
She was born August 20, 1917 in Brownton, WV, daughter of the late Wade and Cora Cogar Flint.
Kathleen graduated in 1937 from Fairmont State in WV, where she received her Lifetime Teaching Certificate. She was a member of First Baptist Church, and prayer chairman for Heaven Bound Ministries and He’s Alive for 20 years. She was a member of Eastern Star and tutored at Madison Elementary School in her later years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Allison Hoyman, and six brothers, Jasper, Henry, Woodrow, Robert, Brent, and Johnny Flint.
She is survived by a son, Woodrow Hoyman and his wife, Kay; three daughters, Marie Schimmel and her husband, Michael, Alison Kinney and her husband, Gene, and Kathy Alvarez, and her husband, Tony; 11 grandchildren, 12 great- grandchildren, four great- great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Friday, October 25, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St., Elm Grove, Wheeling (304-242-2311).
A service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 26 at First Baptist Church, 1470 National Road, Wheeling, WV.
