Matthew Bippus

BIPPUS, Matthew E., 30, of Dunbar, WV, formerly of Wheeling, WV, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013.

He was born January, 1, 1983, a son of Edward S. Bippus III and Candace Bippus of Wheeling.

Matt was a 2013 magna cum laude graduate of West Virginia State Universily and was employed by Youth Service of Putnam County, where he worked as a case worker.

In addition to his father, Edward “Bip” Bippus, Matt was preceded in death by his grandfather, Edward “Bud” Bippus and maternal grandmother, Ruth K. Smoot.

Surviving are Ashley Copen; son, Leo Bippus; mother, Candace Bippus; sister, Elizabeth Bippus; grandmother, Mary S. Bippus; niece, Cali Bippus; uncles, Carl and John Bippus; and cousins, Alisha and Michael.

Matt loved his family, coaching the West Virginia Wild hockey team, his WAHA “family” and his many friends young and old.

Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Friday, November 1st and Saturday, November 2nd from 10 a.m. until the time of service at noon at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger Street, Wheeling.
