Mike and Delores moved south to Hilton Head Island in 1994 where they made great friends, played golf and cards and traveled with family and friends. They moved to the Franke at Seaside Community in Mt. Pleasant in 2004 to be closer to family.

Preceding him in death were his parents; Delores, his wife of almost 59 years; his sister, Betty Lou Droginske; son, Michael R. Rothermund; and grandson, W. Wesley Burlingham. He is survived by daughter, Sherre Burlingham and her husband, Will, of Folly Beach; granddaughter, Britteny Lyn Burlingham of Casanova, VA; grandson, Michael J. Rothermund of N.
