BONAR, Carl Thomas “Tom,” 81, husband of Nancy M. (Horwood) Bonar of Loganton, PA passed away at home on Friday, December 20, 2013.
Born in Wheeling, WV he was the son of the late James W. and Virginia Mae (Daugherty) Bonar.
Carl was baptized in the Christian Church, Beech Bottom, WV. He was a graduate of Wellsburg High School, in 1954. Carl served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
He and his wife were wed in March 28, 1959 at the Presbyterian Church in Wellsburg, WV and shared over 54 years of marriage together.
Carl was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church, Booneville, PA.
His hobbies were building balsa wood airplane models, playing football and baseball and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.
Along with his wife “Tom” is survived by his four sons, James T. (Karen) Bonar, Samuel A. (Carol) Bonar, Glenn F. (Krista) Bonar and Dale Bonar, two daughters Paula S. (Charles) Marsh, Crystal A. (Earl) McCaleb; siblings, James (Jean) Bonar, of Wellsburg, WV, Bonnie (Ralph) Cottrill, of Fern Park, FL and Kathryn (Frank David) Wilkinson of Wheeling, WV; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Including his parents he was predeceased by a sister, Laura (Edgar) Ray of Charlotte, NC.
