Betty Sue Ernest

ERNEST, Betty Sue, 67, of Breckenridge, passed away, Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Stephens Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 20th at St. Andrews Episcopal Church with Father DeWayne Adams officiating.

Interment will follow in the Breckenridge Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, January 19th at Morehart Mortuary.

Betty Sue Hartzell was born September 7, 1946 in Cameron, West Virginia to parents, John William Hartzell and Lucy Catherine Keenan Hartzell.

She grew up in Cameron and married Gary Grant Ernest on September 14, 1963 in Morgantown, West Virginia. She later graduated from Cameron High School in 1965.

Betty Sue was a member of Rebecca Eastern Star in West Virginia until Gary & Betty Sue moved to Breckenridge in 1976.

She loved to read, travel, and crochet.

She also loved being a grandma and keeping in contact with all her Facebook friends.

Betty Sue was also a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John William Hartzell and Lucy Catherine Keenan Hartzell; one brother, Ronald Lee Hartzell.

Betty Sue is survived by her husband of 50 years, Gary G. Ernest of Breckenridge; one son, Michael G. Ernest and wife Sokie of Richardson; one daughter, Melissa D. Crutchley and husband Keven of Owasso, Oklahoma; one brother, Charles W. Hartzell and wife JoAnne of Cameron, West Virginia; one sister, Carol Ann Stern and husband Terrill of Cameron, West Virginia; four grandchildren, Kristen Ernest, Kimberlee Ernest, Gary Crutchley and Gabriel Crutchley and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Andrews Episcopal Church and may be left at Morehart Mortuary.
