ARMSTRONG, George, “Wayne,” 68, of Rayland, Ohio, died Thursday, January 23, 2014, at Liza’s Place in Wheeling, WV.
He was born on October 6, 1945, in Wheeling, WV, to the late George and Mary (Gatts) Armstrong.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Bob, Tom and Ralph Armstrong; two sisters, Grace Smith and Ruth Manning.
Wayne was employed with Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel for 44 years as a dozer operator, owned and operated the Armstrong Tree Farm in Rayland, OH, and also served his country for four years in the Army Reserves.
He is survived by his loving wife, Gerry (McNeil) Armstrong; two sons, Scott (Shelley) and Joe (Janel) and a brother Glenn (Mary Ann) Armstrong.
Friends will be received to pay tribute to Wayne and celebrate his life on Sunday, January 26, 2014, from 12-3 and 5-8 p.m. at the Borkoski Funeral Home, Tiltonsville, OH.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. from the funeral home with Reverend Tom Thomas officiating.
Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, OH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Liza’s Place in Wheeling, WV, in memory of Wayne.
