Jack Beveridge

BEVERIDGE, Jack DeWayne, 93, of Shadyside, Ohio, died Saturday evening January 25, 2014, at the Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling, W.Va.

Jack was born October 31, 1920, in Avondale, Ohio, the son of the late Lyle and Edith Morris Beveridge. He was also preceded in death by his wife Ella Mae Robertson Beveridge, and his brother Richard Beveridge.

Jack was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Bellaire. He retired from Conrail where he had worked as a conductor and was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a proud member of American Legion Post 52 in Bellaire for over 60 years.

Jack is survived by his daughter Jackie (David) Harris of Goose Creek, South Carolina, and his sons Gary (Lisa) Beveridge of Houston, Texas, and Craig (Lilly) Beveridge of Shadyside, seven grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to send their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Michael Blatt and the Angels at OVMC for making his last days so peaceful.

Friends will be received on Thursday, January 30, at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home, 3900 Central Avenue, Shadyside, Ohio, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where services will be held on Friday, January 31, at 1 pm with Pastor Pete Walburn officiating.

Weather permitting, interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio, with full military honors.
