WINLAND, James “Lute,” 87, of Moundsville, WV, died Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at home.

He was born March 7, 1926 in Moundsville, the son of the late Friend Winland and Sarah Neff Winland Harding.

He was retired from the City of Moundsville; and a former member of Church of God.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Sharon White and MaryAnn Barr; two grandsons, Greg and Brian Cook; four brothers, Paul, Dick, and Cork Winland and Billy Harding; a sister, Ida Winland Holmes; and a great- granddaughter, Brooke Scott.

Survivor include his wife of 69 years, Pauline Wells Winland; a daughter, Ruth (Kenny) Cook of Moundsville; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends Saturday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Sunday from noon-3 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville where funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. with Mike Ream officiating.

Interment in Riverview Cemetery, Moundsville.
