Visitation Sunday from noon to 3 and 6-9 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, Moundsville where funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. Interment in Halcyon Hills Memorial Park, Sherrard.

TENNANT, Linda Mae, age 69, of Moundsville, W.Va., passed away Thursday, January 9, 2014, in Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale, W.Va.

She was born May 10, 1944, in Glen Dale, the daughter of the late Donald and Elsie Magers McWhorter.

She received her nursing degree from the B.M. Spurr School of Nursing and was a retired nurse, having worked at Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Mound View Health Care Center, and Wheeling Hospital Continuous Care; was a member of Friends Church, St. Clairsville; enjoyed bowling, her Bunco Club, singing Karaoke, and spending time with and adoring her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David G. Tennant; two brothers, Donald “Butch” and Howard McWhorter; and a sister, Judith Miller.

Survivors include four daughters, Tonya (Chris) Misiak of Hellertown, PA, Shelly Ray of China Grove, NC, Carla (T.D.) DiLoretta of St. Clairsville, and Sherry (Jeff) Morgan of Glen Dale; a brother, Roger (Billie Jo) Magers of Chantilly, VA; a sister, Gwendolyn “Wendy” Baker of Moundsville; eight grandchildren, Tommy, Abby, Amanda, Eric, Crista, Nicholas, Lindee, and Mallory; six great-grandchildren, Noah, Karmen, Tatum, Landon, Oliver, and Kadence; several nieces, nephews and many special friends; and her best friend, Gidgett.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude and appreciation towards the entire staff of the skilled nursing unit at Reynolds Memorial Hospital.

Family will receive friends Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville where funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Jerry Wenger officiating.

Interment in Halcyon Hills Memorial Park, Sherrard.
