GRESAK, Mitchell H., 84, of Glen Dale, WV, died Monday, January 13, 2014 in Liza’s Place, Wheeling, WV, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born January 19, 1929 in Benwood, WV, the son of the late Joseph and Mary Karp Gresak.
He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel; a former carpenter, having worked with many local contractors; a member of St. Jude Catholic Church; past member of Knights of Columbus; Moundsville Moose, and Elks #282 where he was past Trustee; and was an avid Mountaineer and Steelers fan.
Although he was known as a hard worker, devoted husband, and loving father, his greatest role in life was that of devoted and adoring PapPap.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandy Gresak; and a son, Larry Gresak.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Betty Gresak; three children, Dr. Martin (Liz) Gresak of Morgantown, WV, Pam (Jim) Zorn of Glen Dale, and Ron (Tina) Gresak of Mt. Clare, WV; seven grandchildren, Larissa, Jimmy, and Jeffrey Zorn, and Mia, Kyle, Colby, and Carson Gresak; three brothers, James Gresak of Lombard, IL, Jerome Gresak of Columbus, OH, and Charles (Kathy) Gresak of Martins Ferry, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all his caregivers, especially Dr. Nally and his staff.
Family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church, 710 Jefferson Ave., Glen Dale, with Fr. Raju Antony as celebrant.
Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
