GORNIK – On Sunday, January 5, 2014, TINA MARIE EDGE GORNIK in her 53rd year.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger Street, Elm Grove, Wheeling (304-242- 2311).

Mass of Christian Burial celebrated Friday, at 11 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 2244 Marshall Avenue, Whe- eling.

Interment at the convenience of the family.

GORNIK, Tina Marie Edge, 52, of Wheeling passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at Liza’s Place.

She was born April 24, 1961 in Wheeling, WV, daughter of Christine Konoski Edge of Triadelphia and the late Ronald Edge.

Tina was a graduate of Wheeling Park High School and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

She was an avid fan of the WVU Mountaineers football and basketball teams and the Cleveland Browns. She was a loving, caring and very sharing person. Her son Mike’s friends all called her “MOM” and she treated them all like her own. She enjoyed traveling, especially going on cruises. Tina and Mike always had a great Fourth of July celebration every year and she loved sharing that with family and friends. Most of all, she loved spending time with her granddaughter, Shyla, who called her “Nina”.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Michael T. Gornik, Sr.; a son, Michael T. Gornik, II of Wheeling; granddaughter, Shyla Gornik and her mother, Jessica Oliver of Wheeling; a brother, Edward Edge of Triadelphia; a sister, Julie Kottke and her husband, Curt of Poulsbo, WA; several nieces and nephews; her cat, BooBoo; and dog, Zeus.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at the Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger Street, Elm Grove, Wheeling (304-242-2311).

Mass of Christian Burial celebrated Friday, January 10, 2014, at 11 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 2244 Marshall Avenue, Wheeling, with Father Gary Naegele as celebrant.

Interment at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be to the Shiffler Cancer Center, c/o Wheeling Hospital, Medical Park, Wheeling, WV 26003.
