BILO, Virginia M., 88, of Wheeling, formerly resided in Benwood, died Sunday, November 17, 2013, at Wheeling Hospital, surrounded by her family.
She was born March 1, 1925 in Wheeling, a daughter of the late Dominick and Julia Pratt Palermo. Virginia was a former employee of Marx Toys and Sylvania, was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral, the American Legion Auxiliary Post 46, Ladies Guild of the former St. Ladislaus Parish and the local Wheeling Chapter of the AARP. Virginia was a fantastic cook and baker and loved to play cards, bingo, dice games and was an avid bowler.
In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Bilo in 1975, a son-in-law, Walter Markwas, a sister, Marion (Charles) DiBias, brother in law, Joseph Brozovich and a nephew, Charles “Primy” DiBias.
Surviving are two daughters; Sylvia (Daniel) McNeil, of Wheeling, Juliana (Dominic “Mick”) Piazza, of South View, PA, a sister, Lillian Brozovich, of Wheeling, three grandchildren; Walter (Michelle) Markwas, of Riverview, FL, Christina “Chrissy” (Ryan) Robertson, of Pittsburgh, Talia “Tia” Piazza, of Pittsburgh, two greatgrandchildren; Travis Markwas, of Riverview, FL, Raeshell (Shawn) Stephens of Germany and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Cathedral with Msgr. Kevin Quirk as celebrant.
