Jessie Lowe

LOWE, Jessie N. Cunningham, 99, of St. Clairsville, OH, formerly of Wheeling, WV, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 23, 2014, at Belmont Manor.

Jessie was born January 23, 1915 in Wheeling, WV, the daughter of the late John Mathews Cunningham and Vera Marbach Cunningham.

She was a retired employee of the City of Wheeling, and a member of the former Third Presbyterian Church, Wheeling where she taught the kindergarten Sunday School class for over 20 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Lowe on January 9, 1960; her son, William B. Lowe on September 14, 2002; brothers, John A., Charles M. and William E. Cunningham; sister, Eleanor J. Cunningham; stepmother, Margaret E. Cunningham; and her beloved cousin, Valta M. Stocker.

Surviving are her daughter, Rebecca Mazgaj and her husband, Fred of St. Clairsville; her grandson, Cmdr. David M. Rowland, USN and his wife, Alicia of Chula Vista, CA; her granddaughter, Kristin R. Mazgaj of St. Clairsville; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, especially Karen Sue (James) Hostutler and Paul a (Ed) Angel.

The family wishes to express their appreciation and gratitude to the staff of Belmont Manor for their loving care and kindness.

There will be no visitation. Private services will be held with the Reverend Robert P. Nagy officiating, and Jessie will be interred next to her husband, Bill in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling, WV.

Memorial contributions may be made to the OVHS&E Foundation (Ohio Valley Medical Center), 2000 Eoff Street, Wheeling, WV 26003.
