Robert Knauss

KNAUSS, Robert Joseph, 63, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away on February 2, 2014 following a lengthy illness.

He was born on December 16, 1950 in Wheeling, WV, to the late Walter W. Knauss, Jr. and Mary Ellen Ebelts Knauss,

After graduating from Linsly Military Institute in Wheeling, he attended Marshall University in Huntington, WV. In 1973, Bob moved to Jacksonville and opened a Rainbow Sales and Service office at the beach.

He got his realtors license and sold real estate for nine years for Fred Ahearn, Century 21 Realty, where he was influential in developing many neighborhoods in the beaches area. He was active in the Beaches Realtors’ Association, and enjoyed fishing, boating, golf, and jogging, and he was a loyal Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Barbara Dietrich Knauss, his son, Bryan Knauss of Jacksonville, FL, daughter, Erin Moore (Jason) of Callahan, FL, and his precious granddaughter, Jordyn Moore, who will miss her Grandpa Bob. He is also survived by his brother, Walter W. Knauss, III (Cathey) of Thousand Oaks, CA, his sister, Georgene Wayne (Steve) of Simpsonville, SC, mother- in-law, Elizabeth Dietrich of Triadelphia, WV, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Bob was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church of Atlantic Beach.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Friday, February 7 in St. John’s Catholic Church, with visitation one hour prior to service. Interment will follow in Ponte Vedra Valley Cemetery.
