MILLER, Ruth Evangeline McDonald, 97, of Bethlehem, Wheeling WV, passed away peacefully in Forest Hill Care Center on Tuesday, February 11, 2014.
She was born on April 16, 1916 in West Finley Township, PA, the eldestdaughter of the late Harry and Villa Galentine McDonald.
Ruth graduated from West Liberty High School and Elliott School of Business. Prior to her marriage she was employed at the Sterling Drug Company.
She was an active member of St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church, a volunteer for Meals-On-Wheels and a member and Secretary of the Wheeling Reelers Square & Round Dance Club, during which time she enjoyed traveling to dances throughout the United States as well as taking a goodwill tour to promote dancing in several European countries. She also traveled with her family to Hawaii, Aruba, Nova Scotia and Bermuda.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Ralph C. Miller; a brother, Paul McDonald; and four sisters, Lola Jean Epler, Martha Pile, Mary Higgins and Dorothy Santee.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Beck of Wheeling, WV; two grandsons, Chad Eberle (John Caron) of Columbus Ohio and Drew Eberle (Suzette Pramesa) of Wheeling, WV; and a great-grandson, Brett Eberle of Martins Ferry.
Friends will be received Thursday, February 13, 2014 from 4-8 p.m. at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger Street, Wheeling, WV.
Services will be held on Friday, February 14 at 1 p.m. at St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church, 141 Kruger Street, Wheeling, with the Rev. R. Paul Schafer officiating.
Entombment in Halcyon Hills Memorial Mausoleum.
