Avis Warner

WARNER, Avis Marie, 70, of Valley Grove, WV, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2014 at Wheeling Hospital.

She was born on January 27, 1944 in Martins Ferry, Ohio, daughter of the late LeRoy and Flora Smith. She was Methodist by faith.

She was a loving and devoted sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ella Schafer.

She is survived by her loving, devoted husband of 50 years, Denzle L. Warner; seven children, Dan Smith of Wheeling; Henry Warner and his wife, Bonnie of Valley Grove; Anna Howard of Wheeling; Michael Warner and his wife, Judy of Elm Grove; twins, Lonny Warner and his wife, Tammi of Bellaire, Ohio; and Lenny Warner and his wife, Laurie of Copperas Cove, Texas; and Heather Warner and her fiance, Bill Layman of Brilliant, Ohio; a brother, Henry McLaughlin and his wife, Janice of Wheeling. She had 17 grandchildren, Stephanie, Denny, and Christopher Warner, Kelly Koontz, Jenni Lee Rice, Brandon Howard, Savanna Warner, Michael A. Warner, Jr., Zach, Sara, Colton and Lexie Warner, Isacc, Aaron and Joseph Warner, Eric Warner and William Layman, III; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her dog, Kelsey.

Friends will be received on Thursday, March 20, 2014, from 10 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. at the Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger Street, Elm Grove, Wheeling (304- 242-2311), with the Reverend Bryan D. Carpenter officiating.

Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling, WV.
