O’LEARY, Cheryl Rush. Surrounded by her family, Cheryl E. O’Leary, 58, peacefully passed away after a prolonged illness, to her final reward Jan. 30, 2014, in Portsmouth, Va., being reunited with her father Kenneth Rush, Sr. and a son, Shane Michael. A woman of faith, she radiated an exuberance, love and joy of life – and regularly practiced the golden rule.
She loved to travel, was a proud south-paw who was multi-gifted and talented. She enjoyed art, poetry, crafting, and music, had a fascination for and love of angels and was an avid reader. She was a loyal fan of WVU and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The eldest daughter born to Kenneth and Nellie Rush, Sr., was a native of West Virginia, growing up in Weirton and a proud graduate of Weir High class of 1973. Having valued her family above all else, she easily shared a photo or told a recent tale about those that survive and will sorely miss her: her loving spouse John, her three children Rebecca Meneely, Heather (Jay) Greer, and Kenneth (Becca) Greer, Sr., stepson Sean, her mother Nellie Rush, sister, Cindy Koelbl of Arizona, brother Kenneth Rush, Jr., of Florida, her five grandchildren Elaina, Connor, Devon, Kenny, Jr. and Kayla, countless relatives and friends will mourn her passing.
Her service was held Feb. 4th at the Loving Funeral Home with Rev. and Mrs. Marlon King officiating, from Virginia Beach, Va. Interment was held at Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News.
