GRIFFIN, Curtis J., 53, of Wheeling, WV, died Saturday, March 8, 2014 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.
He was born November 21, 1960 in Wheeling, a son of Patricia Cameron Glessner and the late James Griffin.
Curt was a 1979 graduate of Wheeling Central Catholic High School, a member of the Laborers International Union, Local #1149, Wheeling, and a Golden Gloves Boxing Champion.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by a step-brother, Lee J. Glessner.
Surviving is his mother, Patricia A. Cameron Glessner, and her husband, Lee, of Wheeling; two sons, James Michael Griffin of Morgantown, WV; Sean David Griffin of Wheeling; one brother, Michael “Motor” Griffin, and his wife, Renee, of Wheeling; two nieces, Kacie and Karlee Griffin, step-brother, Gary (Missy) Glessner and children, Gary III, Sydney and Kelsey, great friend and caregiver, Mike “Demps” Coleman, several aunts, uncles, cousins and his dog, Roxy.
Friends received 2-8 p.m. Monday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St., Wheeling, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2014 with Rev. Doug Ondeck officiating.
Someone will enjoy another day, due to Curt’s unselfish final gift of donating tissues and organs.
