BOGGS, Helen “Betty,” 90, of Elk Fork Road, Middlebourne, departed this life Friday, March 14, 2014 at the home of her son.
She was born April 30, 1923 in Gorrells Run, Tyler County, a daughter of the late CP “Dode” and Goldie Mae Wetzel Eddy.
Betty was a retired employee of PPG Industries, Natrium, WV. She was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting. She was a former singer in The Country Girls group. She was the Rock of her family and a helper of many. Betty was a faithful member of Elk Fork Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Floyd H. Ferrell; her second husband, Ernest C. Boggs; a son, James Elliott Ferrell; stepsons, George, Bernard, Bill, Junior, Wayne and Jack Boggs; sisters, Virginia Sine, Edith Carroll, Ethel Reed, Thelma Lemasters and Amy Gosnell; brothers, Eli and Alex Eddy.
Betty is survived by her son, Bill (Paula) Ferrell; a stepson, John (Doris) Boggs; a sister, Zelma Imhoff; a brother, Jake Eddy; grandchildren, Terresa (Doug) Hayward, Billie Jo Scott and Jason (Shannon) Ferrell; great – grandchildren, Jeremiah, Anna, Jamie, Jordan, Abbie, Mckenzie, Jesse, Anna Mae and Liam; great – great – granddaughters, Lexi and Raylee; numerous step- grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Monday, March 17, 2014, 3-9 p.m. at Furbee Funeral Home, Middlebourne where services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday with Evangelist Aaron Veyon officiating.
Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Sistersville.
