BUCHANAN, Kenneth Edward “Buck,” 51, of Glen Dale, WV, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, resting quietly in his home, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
He was born on October 5, 1962, in Glen Dale, the son of the late Paul and Letha Lightner Buchanan.
Buck was a faithful employee of the West Virginia Department of Highways for 22 years, keeping the roads safe for many.
Surviving are his loving wife, Essie “Penny” Crabb Buchanan; a sister, Candi Taylor and her husband, Walt of Benwood, WV; two daughters, Jamie Wade and her partner, Jessie Cyrus of Dillonvale, OH and Jodi Wade and her partner, Jeremy Moore of Wheeling, WV; grandchildren, Drew Wade and his fiancee, Kayla Conner, Bayleigh Thomas, and Reagan Patterson; great-grandson, Jase Wade; nephew, Bart Taylor and his wife, Abby, and great-nephew, Wyatt Taylor; nieces, Brittany Steele and her husband, Jordan, and a great-nephew to be born on April 15, Amber Taylor and her fiance, Cliff Arbogast; Uncle Donald and Aunt Donna Buchanan.
Buck had a passion for his family and friends, but the other great loves of his life were NASCAR and dirt racing. He was hooked at the age of five, when he went to his first race with his dad, and that’s where it began.
To his family and his brothers, Joe, George, Emery, Gossett, Ron and Budrow, “We’re Going Green.”
At Buck’s request, there will be no visitation or service.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
