Scott Minor

MINOR, Scott Francis, 59, of Glen Dale passed away peacefully Sunday, March 23, 2014, at home, surrounded by his wife and family.

He was born March 1, 1955 in Glen Dale, WV, the son of the late William Batelle and Josephine Pauline Sawinski Minor.

He worked for the International Union of Operating Engineers, and later went on to graduate from West Virginia Institute of Technology with a degree in Mechanical Engineering; he also worked as a Turbine Outage Field Service Engineer for Westinghouse Corporation until 1996, when he took a job close to home to be with his loving wife and growing family; he worked for OVMC for 15 years, West Liberty University, and most recently was excited to be hired by First Energy Corporation as a Generations Specialist.

Scott was a dedicated, loving husband who cherished his four children, whom he taught well by his example.

When not spending time with his family, he liked being in his garage enjoying his lifetime hobby of restoring classic cars.

He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church, Moundsville, where he served as a lector.

He is survived, and sadly missed by his wife of 26 years, Tina; their children, Jacob Scott Minor, Joseph Clayton Minor, Kristine Elizabeth Minor and Katie Ann Minor, all of Glen Dale; a sister, Becky (Sam) Stavischeck of Moundsville; brothers, Denis (Thelma) Minor, Mark (Mary Kay) Minor, John (Darla) Minor, Ed (Robin) Minor, all of Moundsville, and Chris (Cindy) Minor of Benwood; sister-in-law, Kathy (Ed) Fitzpatrick of NY; brothers-in-law, John Amedro of NY, Jim (Mary) Amedro of Moundsville, Jeff (Alexandra) Amedro of Morgantown, WV, and Jay (Newy) Amedro of FL; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
