Visitation Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home, New Martinsville, WV.

Visitation Thursday noon until time of service at 1 p.m. at the First Christian Church, 515 Maple Ave., New Martinsville.

Thomas Emch

EMCH, Thomas W., 87, of New Martinsville, WV, died Monday, March 10, 2014, at Liza’s Place, Wheeling, WV.

He was born February, 21, 1927, in New Martinsville, WV, a son of the late George I. and Flossie May McKinley Emch.

He was a retired pipefitter at PPG, a U.S. Army veteran, and was a member of the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ New Martinsville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Jack H., Joseph C., George M., Richard L. and J. Walter Emch.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Anna Lee Batton Emch; five sons, Thomas W. (Teena) Emch of New Martinsville, John C. (Sylvia) Emch of Winston, OR, David C. (Karen) Emch, Frederick W. (Leslie) Emch, and George T. (Jessica) Emch; a daughter, Claudia S. “Suzy” (Wesley) Philp, all of New Martinsville; one brother, John D. (Kathleen) Emch of Kingston, TN and a sister, Anna Grace McPeek of New Martinsville; 18 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory 751 Third St. New Martinsville, WV. Visitation on Thursday from Noon until time of service at 1 p.m. at the First Christian Church 515 Maple Ave., New Martinsville, WV, with Rev. Dr. Victor Hunter officiating.

Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery, New Martinsville.
