Charles Cherry Sr.
CHERRY, Charles “Chuck” Albert Sr., 87, of Triadelphia, WV, died Monday, April 21, 2014, in Peterson Rehabilitation Hospital, Wheeling.
He was born May 17, 1926, in Triadelphia, son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Goundry Cherry.
Chuck was retired from Valley Camp Coal, a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII and a member of Triadelphia Methodist Church.
He was a member of the Ohio 1 Masonic Lodge, the Osiris Shrine & Scottish Rite.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Charles, four sisters, Harriett Valocik, Sara Sipos, Abigail Danehart and Margaret Brandt, a granddaughter, Jennifer Holman.
Surviving are a son, Richard (Terri) Cherry of Rutland VT, four daughters, Rose (John) Potts of Wheeling, Sarah Ringer of Marion, OH, Martha (Kip) Henry of Worthington, OH, Mary (Byron) Nichols of Barnesville, OH; three brothers, Robert Cherry, Donald (Barbara) Cherry and William (Sis) Cherry all of Wheeling; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Thursday, April 24, 2014, from 5-8 p.m. at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger Street, Wheeling, WV, (304) 242-2311, where services will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Michael Palmer officiating.
Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
