Charles Kohler

KOHLER, Charles “Bud,” 85, of McMechen, WV, died Tuesday, April 22, 2013 in Peterson Rehabilitation Center.

He was born May 7, 1928, in Wheeling, W.Va., a son of the late Adolph and Genevieve (Wendel) Kohler.

He was retired from Continental Bakery and was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Korean War. He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Mt. Olivet.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Anna G. (Diehl) Kohler; a son, Wendel Kohler; three brothers, William, Robert, and Adolph Kohler; two sisters, Bettie Nolte and Nancy Thorngate; five sisters-in-law, Wanda Diehl, Patricia Diehl, Catherine Diehl, Agnes Miller, and Mary Swanek; and seven brothers-in-law, Joe Swanek, Roy Hunt, John Miller, Ross Thorngate, Tom Diehl, John Diehl, and Charles Diehl.

He is survived by one son, Terry (Lori) Kohler of McMechen; two daughters, Maryann (James) Kozusnik of Mozart, and Andrea Kohler of Wheeling; one sister, Joann (Harry) Prager of McMechen; one brother- in-law, Charles Nolte of McMechen; three sisters- in-law, Jacqueline Hunt of Wheeling, Polly Kohler of McMechen, and Dolores (Dan) Grzebien of Parkville, MD; eight grandchildren, Aimee (Luke) White, David (Lisa) Kozusnik, Mark (Becca) Kozusnik, and Anna, Erin, Lauren, Chelsea and Marissa Kohler; four great- grandchildren, Noah and Sophia White, Hudson Kozusnik, and Oakley Lang; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Friday, April 25, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Benwood-Mc-Mechen Chapel, 214 Marshall Street, McMechen, where vigil services will be held at 3 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Mt. Olivet, with Rev. Dennis Schuelkens, Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
