BASH, David J., 58, of New Martinsville, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 10, 2014.
Dave was born and raised in Parkersburg, WV, the son of Lucille Barr Bash and James K. Bash.
He was an avid bowler from the age of four. When he was 16, Dave was recognized by the American Bowling Congress as the youngest player ever to have bowled a sanctioned 293. The week after he graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1974, Dave joined the Professional Bowlers Association tour.
A union painter by trade, Dave enjoyed beagles, especially his beloved Dasher, music and his friends and family and was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 931 in New Martinsville.
Dave is survived by his nieces, Julie Romanowski Miller (Scott) and Lisa Romanowski of Parkersburg and Beth Duvall of Columbia MD, his nephews Al Duvall (Kristen) of Brooklyn, NY and Andy Duvall of San Francisco, CA, and his grand-nieces/nephew Emma Romanowski of Parkersburg and Samantha and Darren Duvall of Columbia, MD.
In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his sisters, Janet Romanowski (Rocky) of Parkersburg and Mary Jacqueline Duvall (David) of Wilmington, DE.
Dave will mostly be remembered for his honesty, generosity and sense of humor.
Services will be Monday 11 a.m. at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Jon Lands officiating.
Burial will follow at Parkesburg Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Sunday 2-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
