SMITH, Marilyn Mabel, 84, of Wheeling, W.Va., died peacefully on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home with her son Jim by her side.
She was born September 4, 1929, a daughter to the late LeRoy and Nettie Witsberger McKeen.
She was Catholic by faith and formerly attended St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Marilyn graduated from Triadelphia High School, the class of 1947. She was formerly employed by the First National Bank in Wheeling and retired from WesBanco.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, LeRoy William “Buddy” McKeen, and Paul McKeen; and three sisters, Kathleen Och, Annetta Gellner, and Juanita Bushon.
She is survived by one son, James O. Smith Jr. (Susan Campbell-Smith) of Marion, Iowa; one daughter, Luanne Metcalf (James D. III) of Kalispell, Mont.; one brother, James McKeen (Patricia) of Bethany, W.Va.; and one sister, Sandra Porter of Triadelphia, W.Va.
Friends will be received for a memorial gathering on Saturday, April 5, 2014 from noon until the time of memorial service at 2 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger Street, Elm Grove, with Rev. Gary Naegele officiating.
