HILL, Robert L., 87, of Bellaire, Ohio, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at the Valley Hospice South’s Liza’s Place in Wheeling, West Virginia.
He was born May 6, 1926, in Wheeling, West Virginia, the son of the late Alonzo D. and Georgia Barrett Hill.
Robert was a retired employee of the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation’s Martins Ferry Mill and a member of the South Bellaire United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday School for over 20 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Greenwood Hill on March 22, 2008, and his sister, Marie Walker.
Surviving are his daughter, Stephanie Hill (Steve) Roten of St. Clairsville, Ohio and two grandchildren, Matthew Roten of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Benjamin Roten of Columbus, Ohio. Also several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory, 441 37th Street, Bellaire, Ohio, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. where services will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. with Rev. Dean Myers and Pastor James Lish officiating.
Interment in the Powhatan Cemetery in Powhatan Point, Ohio.
