Timothy Holt

HOLT, Timothy Lee “Tim,” 62, of Triadelphia passed away at Wheeling Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday.

Tim was born on February 16, 1952 in Wheeling WV, and was the son of Ocy and Julia Holt.

He grew up in the Overbrook section of Elm Grove was known to tell many fond stories of childhood friends, time spent with siblings, and his many adventures that always ending with him narrowly escaping blame or trouble.

On March 3, 1973, he married the love of his life, Linda Moore, and the two would remain side by side through all of the trials and tribulations that life would have in store never wavering, always together.

Tim was an honors graduate of the School of Life and Love, forever an example to others that life’s pleasures are to be enjoyed in the present and not put off for a later time.

During his life, he was an employee of Wheeling Volkswagen-Subaru, the Elm Grove Eagles and Sears. Tim was also a lifetime member of the Cave Club and the Elm Grove Eagles.

Tim was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed time spent with his wife and his son, Scott, and smiling and shaking his head in disbelief at the wonders that his grandchildren were becoming before his eyes.

Tim was preceded in death by his father, Ocy Holt, and his mother Julia (Popovich) Holt.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda (Moore) Holt; his son, Scott and daughter-in-law Arica (Posey) Holt of Wheeling; and two special grandchildren, Taylin and Blaise Holt, who will miss their ‘Pap-Pap’ greatly.

Also surviving are his brother, Ned S. Holt and wife Christine of Wheeling; brother, Ted Holt of Ocean Springs, MS; and sister, Janet (Holt) Dean and her husband Larry of Valley Grove, mother-in-law Joanne Moore of Triadelphia; sister & brother-in-law, Patty and Ken Murray of Triadelphia, several nieces and nephews and countless friends who will always have love in their heart and a story to tell.

Friends will be received Friday, April 11, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St., Elm Grove, Wheeling (304-242-2311). Friends will also be received Saturday, April 12, 2014 from noon until time of service at 2 p.m.

Interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
