KINNEY, William E. “Bill,” 72, of Shadyside, Ohio, died Sunday, April 13, 2014 in Dilles Bottom, Ohio.
He was born in Armstrongs Mills, Ohio on June 27, 1941, son of the late Robert E. Kinney and Ella D. Harper Kinney.
Bill was a retired coal miner from Ohio Valley Coal Co. #6 Mine. He was a U.S. Army veteran proudly serving in the Vietnam War; he was a member of American Legion Post #521 in Shadyside; the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #626 in Bellaire; Disabled American Veterans #117 in Bellaire; VVA 25th Infantry Division Association; a member of Armstrong United Methodist Church and the United Mine Workers of America Local #1810.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Randy Kinney.
Bill is survived by his wife, Sandra K. Lucas Kinney, two sons, Thomas (April) Kinney of Grove City, Ohio and Michael (Hollie) Kinney of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; a sister, Barbara L. Rataiczak of Cambridge, Ohio, and four grandchildren, Amanda Kinney, Mason Kinney, Delaney Kinney and Caroline Kinney.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg, Ohio where services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Randy Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in Armstrong Cemetery, Armstrongs Mills, Ohio.
Belmont County Veteran’s Association will conduct Full Military Honors on Wednesday at the cemetery.
