SCHNUPP, William Robert, 89, of Wheeling, WV, died Friday, April 4, 2014 at Liza’s Place.

Friends will be received Sunday, April 6, 2014, from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. at Kepner Funeral Home, Burke Chapel, 2101 Warwood Avenue, Wheeling, WV 26003 (304-277-2722).

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, April 7, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church with Msgr. Eugene S. Ostrowski as celebrant.

Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, with military honors provided by the Moundsville Honor Guard.

William Schnupp

SCHNUPP, William Robert, 89, resident of Wheeling, WV died Friday, April 4, 2014 at Liza’s Place.

He was born January 15, 1925 in Wheeling, son of the late William A. and Madelyn Rorhl Schnupp.

He retired from the U.S. Post Office, and was a WWII Army Infantry veteran and served at the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, where he attended grade school, and a 1943 graduate of Wheeling Central.

Along with his family, the love of his life was his cabin at Seneca Lake, where many good times will be remembered by friends and family. Bill was an avid fan of Notre Dame.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sally; a brother, Charles (Gus) Schnupp.

Surviving are his wife, Sarah Gaus Schnupp; sons, Dr. James Schnupp (Marilynn) of Wheeling, and Tom Schnupp of Charlotte, NC.; daughter, Marianne Paulus (Jay) of Wheeling; grandchildren, Stephanie Zorger (Josh), Adam Schnupp (Monika), Michael Schnupp, Matthew Schnupp (Jessica), Elizabeth Schnupp, Miranda Kana (Mike), Tiffany Holcomb (Adam), Luke Schnupp, Jocelyn Czapp (George), Kurt Paulus (Nichole), Nathalie Murray (Jimmy), and Andrew Paulus; great-grandchildren, Liam, Kenzie, and Lucie Zorger, Garrett, Eli, and Sarah Czapp, Melah and Julia Paulus; two brothers, Dr. Paul Schnupp (Dorothy) of King of Prussia, PA, and Alfred Schnupp (Sandee) of Fairfax, VA; sisters, Mary Thalman of Atlanta, GA and Kathleen Zdanowicz of Crown Point, IN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
