ADELINE LEFFE

Adeline “Addie” Regina, 91, of Wheeling, W.Va., went to be with her Lord in Heaven on Sunday, May 18, 2014.

Addie was born September 19, 1922, in Wheeling, a daughter of the late Alfred and Angela (Spadafore) Maruca. She was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy; retired from the former Foodland, Washington Avenue, Wheeling, and was a member of the Christian Mothers at St. Michael Parish, Wheeling.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rocco B. Leffe; three sisters, Mary J. Maruca, Edith DeFranco and Gloria Tedeschi; and son-in-law, Thomas A. Giffen.

Addie’s greatest joy in life came from caring for and being with her beloved family, whom she cherished so much. She is survived by her four loving children, Richard B. “Dick” Leffe and his wife, Sheree of Mount Olivet, Joseph R. Leffe and his wife, Emily of Wheeling, Linda J. Snyder and her husband, Dennis of Wheeling and Judith A. Giffen of Bridgeport, W.Va.; a sister, Dorothy Apicella of Shadyside, Ohio; six grandchildren, John Snyder and his wife, Cheryl, Denise Radaker and her husband, Karl, Joseph Anthony Leffe and his wife, Kelly, Regina Pollard and her husband, Billy Ray, and Lauren and Victoria Giffen; 11 great-grandchildren, Christine and Justin Snyder, Kyle, Tyler and Lia Radaker, Kristin, Alyssa, Chloe and Claire Adeline Pollard, and Rocco and Maelynn Leffe; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger St., Wheeling, where a vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m, Thursday, May 22, 2014, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wheeling, with the Rev. Thomas R. Gallagher as celebrant. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.altmey-er.com.
