Anna Mae (Delbrugge) McConville, 81, of Martins Ferry, OH, died Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry.
She was born January 17, 1933, in Bridgeport, OH, a daughter of the late Herman and Bertha (Roberts) Delbrugge.
She was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church in Martins Ferry, where she served as choir director for more than fifty years.
In addition she was a devoted Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher. Her love of children earned her the title of “second” mom with many. She was employed at the former Tid Bit store.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, George, Carl, Herman, Dick and Jerry Delbrugge; and sister, Deanna Wooden.
Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Eugene “Gene” McConville; children, Paula (Ray) Messenger, Ronald (Janice) McConville and Marcia (John) Cika all of Martins Ferry and Maria (Joe) Karakas of Tiltonsville, OH; sister, Loretta Allen of Chattanooga, TN; eight grandchildren, Keith McConville, Raymond and Gwynne Messenger, Ronnie and Amber McConville, Michael, Marisa and Mandy Cika; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, Sunday noon-3 and 6-8 p.m. and Monday, May 19, 2014 from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. with Rev. Larry W. Lewis officiating.
Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry, OH.
