Cecil Edward “Cec” Calvert Jr., 77, of Wheeling died Tuesday, May 27, 2014, in Liza’s Place, Wheeling.

He was born May 19, 1937, in Wheeling ,WV, son of the late Cecil E. Calvert, Sr. and Estella Keller Calvert.

Cecil was retired from Continental Bakery and was a Golf Ranger for Speidel Golf Course, Oglebay Park, a U.S. Navy Veteran and a member of Stone Presbyterian Church.

He was a member of Oglebay Men’s Golf Club, Saints & Sinners, Past Exalted Ruler Wheeling Elks #28, Past President of the Snake Club, Elm Grove Eagles and a graduate of Linsly Military Institute, Wheeling.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Rena Calvert, two sons, Paul E. Calvert and Cecil E. Calvert, II.

Surviving are his fiancee, Kay Wilson of Wheeling and her children, Kim Greehan (David) and Carrie Collins (Gordon); her grandchildren, Sarah Collins and Morgan Collins; his daughter, Kathleen House (John); his stepson, Denzil Skidmore (Margaret); his step-daughter, Janice Lough (Neil); his five step-grandchildren, Heather Smith (Christopher), Keith Skidmore (Regina), Sandy Robinson, Michael Bertelli (Carrie), Amanda Hunter (Albert); 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Friends are invited to a memorial service Saturday May 31, 2014, at noon at Stone Presbyterian Church, Wheeling with the Reverend Robert P. Nagy officiating. Interment at the convenience of the family.
