Charles Horner, 79, of Fish Creek Road, Cameron, WV, died Saturday, May 24, 2014 at his residence.

He was born September 30, 1934 at Colliers, WV, a son of the late Minor Horner and Eliza Hartley Horner.

Mr. Horner worked most of his life in the oil and gas fields. He has served as president of Horner Oil and Gas for the past 10 years; however, he has been in business for the past 42 years.

Charles attended the Calvary Temple at Worthington, WV.

Surviving are his wife, Delorse Showalter Horner; one son and daughter-in-law, John Horner and his wife Teresa of Clark Hill; three daughters and their spouses: Debra Murray and husband Thomas of Clarksburg, Dorothy Price and husband Mitchell of Cameron and Marie Tedrow and husband Robert of Clark Hill; and eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mr. Horner was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, John Frank Horner; and two sisters, Nancy McFadden and Violet Horner.

Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home, 2678 Hornet Highway, Hundred, WV, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. with the Pastor Tim Shuttlesworth officiating. Interment will follow in the Horner Family Cemetery on Fish Creek.
