Charles John “Chuck” Williams, 64, of Follansbee, WV, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at home with his family by his side.
He was born on June 3, 1949 in Follansbee, WV, a son of the late Earl Raymond and Mary Katherine (Boyuk) Williams.
Charles graduated from Follansbee High School in 1968. He served his country during Vietnam in the Army. He retired with more than 30 years of service at Weirton Steel Corp., where he worked in the band wear room. He was also a member of the Follansbee United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Men, and was a Lay Leader of the church.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara (Moore) Williams; three children: Charles “C.J.” (Amy) Williams II of Follansbee, WV, Christina Joyce (Joshua) Ruschel of Weirton, WV, and Megan Virginia Moore of Follansbee, WV; one brother, Richard Joseph (Karen) Williams of Follansbee, WV; two sisters, Patricia Marie Huffman of East Liverpool, OH, and Barbara Jean (Steve) Lombardo of Margate, FL; and one granddaughter, Emily Joy.
He was known as Pappy “C” to Makenna and Michael Nickerson and Kaelynn and Logan Roxby.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 27 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Mullenbach Funeral Home, 669 Main St., Follansbee, WV, where services will be held on Wednesday, May 28 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Penny Calmbacher officiating.
Entombment will follow in Highland Hills Memorial Gardens in Follansbee, WV.
Full military honors will be conducted by the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
