EMMA GRIMES

Emma M. Thomann Grimes, 95, of Elm Grove, WV passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2014, at Wheeling Hospital.

Born in Wheeling, WV on June 22, 1918, Emma was the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine Rienart Thomann. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Emma served in the Womens Army Corps during WWII and was a member of the Elm Grove United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, Emma was preceded in death by her husband, John S. Grimes; her two brothers, Arthur and William Thomann; and her sister, Helen Thomann.

She is survived by two sons, Charles Grimes of Wheeling and his wife JoAnn, and Paul Grimes of Columbus, Ohio and his wife Carole; one granddaughter, Ashley McCracken and her husband Jonathan of Findlay, Ohio; one grandson, Jason Grimes of Marysville, Ohio; two great grandsons, Trevan and Robbie; two sisters, Wilma Thomann of Elm Grove, and Evelyn Jasenas of Grand Haven, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Tuesday, May, 6, 2014, from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St., Elm Grove Wheeling (304-242-2311). Interment in Halcyon Hills Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Boy Scout Troop 29 c/o Elm Grove United Methodist Church, 125 Kruger Street, Wheeling, WV.
