Margaret E. Stiles Grimes, 102, of Mounds-ville died Sunday, May 11, 2014 at home.

She was born January 24, 1912, in Monongalia County, WV, the daughter of the late Joseph William and Harriett Lucinda White Stiles.

She was a retired switchboard operator from Ohio Valley Medical Center; a charter member of Messiah Lutheran Church; a loving mother and grandmother; loved animals and the county; sewed beautifully; great family historian; caretaker to many neighborhood children; volunteered many places including the soup kitchen, church and blind camp.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Jacob Grimes; two brothers, Lawrence and Clark Stiles; three sisters, Ruth Cross, Martha Stiles Kesteven, and Mary Stiles.

Survivors include three daughters Martha Carol Grimes, Mary Yeater, Harriett (John) Bryan, all of Moundsville; a grandson, Thomas Bradford Grimes of Moundsville; a granddaughter, Bethany Faith Bryan of Pittsburgh, PA; several caring friends, Tina Herculas, Ruey Ziegler, Martha Barcelona, Joan Stiles, and Patty McKeever; several nieces, nephews, and her church friends.

Family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville and Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, 503 Lafayette Ave., Mounds-ville, with Pastor Sean Smith officiating.

Interment in Riverview Cemetery, Moundsville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice or Messiah Lutheran Church.
