RICHARD TAYLOR

Richard H. Taylor, 93, of Wellsburg, WV, passed away May 28, 2014, at UPMC, Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.

He was born September 16, 1920, in Wellsburg, WV to the late Archie Campbell and Ava Bassford Taylor.

He was a school teacher in Weirton, WV, and a graduate of Alderson Broaddus College in Philippi, WV, and had a Masters from WVU. He was a member of the Wellsburg first Baptist Church, and also an Army veteran, serving during World War II.

In addition to his parents he was preceded by his wife, Edna Mae Schwirian Taylor whom he was married to for 67 years; a brother, G. Reed Taylor; two sisters, Mildred Arnett, and Ruth Crawford.

He is survived by his son, Richard K. Taylor and his wife Brenda; a daughter, Marilyn Taylor all of Wellsburg, WV; and a brother, Arch K. Taylor of Sarasota, FL; and a very special buddy, Sherry McCausland.

Visitation will be Friday, May 30, 2014, from 5-8 p.m. at Reasner Funeral Home, 1515 Charles St., Wellsburg, WV.

Service will be Saturday, May 31, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Arthur Wells officiating.

Interment will follow to Franklin Cemetery, Wellsburg, WV, with full military grave side rites by the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
