CECIL HUSS

Cecil Earl Huss, 80, of Mount Olivet, WV, died on Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Wheeling, WV.

He was born February 8, 1934 in Wheeling, WV, son of the late Cecil A. Huss and Hazel Pauline Miller Huss Grim.

He was a member of the Mount Olivet United Methodist Church, where he was involved for years in many organizations and sang in the choir.

Cecil was a graduate of Linsly Military Institute where he was an all-state football player for three years as a lineman and participated in the West Virginia/ Ohio OVAC football game. He went on to play football at West Virginia University for two years, finishing his football career at West Liberty University where he was all-conference.

He was a truck driver for the Teamsters for 25 years and drove trucks for different companies until retiring from trucking. In his later years, he was the caretaker at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Mount Olivet, WV. He was a long- standing member of the Mount Olivet Lions Club, the United Methodist Men, the Linsly Alumni, and the Cave Club in Wheeling, WV, where he enjoyed playing many card games over the years.

Surviving are his loving wife of 57 years, Loretta Jean Cunningham Huss; a daughter, Cheryl Ann Brown and her husband, Michael of Fredericksburg, VA, and their children, Madeline and Andrew; and son, Eric Huss and daughter-in-law Shelly Wild Huss of Pittsburgh, PA, and their children, Zachary, Jacob, and Benjamin.

Friends will be received on Sunday, June 15, 2014, from 7-9 p.m. and on Monday, June 16, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St, Wheeling, WV (304 242-2311).

Mount Olivet Lions Club will conduct services at 6:30 Monday evening. Services will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Mount Olivet United Methodist Church, Wheeling, WV, with the Reverend Greg Markins officiating.

Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Halcyon Hills Memorial Gardens, Sherrard, WV.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, 500 Fairmont Pike, Wheeling, WV 26003.
