Erma Nelda Rine Jefferson, 85, died on May 7, 2014, in Eustis, Florida after having open heart surgery.

Erma was born September 3, 1928, in Glen Easton, West Virginia.

Dora, Florida as a manager of the Variety Shoppe. For 25 years, she put in countless hours for MDB and Erma never sought recognition but worked quietly behind the scenes. She taught those around her that it is important to make others feel welcome in your home. You should always have a sense of humor because there is always a bright side to every situation. It is your attitude toward the task at hand that matters the most and to never be afraid of a hard day’s work, even cleaning house can be fun.

Erma enjoyed being with family and friends. Her favorite times in life were going to church, playing cards, singing, traveling, and cooking. She studied and memorized scriptures daily. She never met a stranger and taught all her children to love the Lord.

Erma is preceded in death by her sister, Melba Rine Burkhart.

Her survivors include sister, Velma Ruth Harris and brother Eldwin and sister-in-law Mary Lee Rine. Erma’s four daughters include: Deborah Collins (Dan), Patty Jefferson, Joyce Lamb (James) and Laura Barker (Kevin). She also is survived by 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
