Glenn H. Babe, 90 of New Martinsville, WV, died Saturday, June 7, 2014, at his home.

He was born July 9, 1923, in West Post Office, WV, a son of the late Albert T. and Nancy J. Richmond Babe.

He was a retired operator at PPG and the owner operator of Babe’s Auto Body. Glenn was a WWII Army Veteran who received a purple heart. He was a member of the Hillview Terrace Church of Christ, Moundsville, WV, the American Legion Post 28, New Martinsville and Disabled American Veterans.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Betty Adams Babe; five children, Larry R. (Connie) Babe of Paden City, WV, Glenna L. (Carlton) Roberton of Randleman, NC, Gregory S. (Carla) Babe of Mount Lebanon, PA, Machelle A. Babe of Grand Junction, CO and Eric B (Rhonda) Babe of New Martinsville, WV; one brother, Marvin Babe; one sister, Ruth Anderson; 10 grandchildren, 1 step-granddaughter, 3 great grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.

Family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory 751 Third St. New Martinsville, where services will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with Evan. D. Gene West officiating.

Entombment will follow in Northview Cemetery Mausoleum, New Martinsville, with military graveside services.
