Helen A. Burkhart, 69, of Wheeling, WV, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at her son’s house in Murfreesboro, TN.

Born in Bellaire, OH on December 18, 1944, Helen was the daughter of the late Matthew and Caroline Pollock Volleman.

She was a Presbyterian by faith, former printess at a print shop and former sweeper at Wheeling Race Track and Casino.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. Burkhart in 2007 and a brother, Matthew “Matt” Volleman.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Burkhart of Wheeling, WV and Anthony “Tony” Burkhart and his wife, Lisa of Murfreesboro, TN; two sisters-in-law, Debra Braun and Lona Hall both of Wheeling; brother-in-law, Dana and his wife, Carol Burkhart of Wheeling; three grandchildren, Emily, Joshua and Caroline Burkhart; great-grand- daughter, Annabel Clark and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Friday, June 13 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Wheeling Chapel, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 14 at 10 a.m. at the Bishop’s Chapel, Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a local Hospice or a charity of your choice.
