JEAN HUFF

Jean E. Fox Huff, 68, of Wheeling, WV, died Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Wheeling Hospital.

She was born July 15, 1945, in Wheeling, a daughter of the late Fred W. and Ella C. Shutler Fox.

Jean started her career as an elementary school teacher for Ohio County Schools. She was then employed by Fed One Bank, Wheeling, for 26 years, serving as the Vice President of Human Resources and Corporate Secretary for the Board of Directors. She retired from the Citizens Bank, Martins Ferry, where she served for 12 years as the Vice President of Human Resources.

Jean devoted much of her time to her parish, St. Joseph Cathedral, Wheeling, where she was the current President of the Pastoral Council and also served as a volunteer at the Catholic Charities Center.

Jean graduated from Wheeling Central Catholic High School and West Liberty State College, where she earned a Bachelors Degree in Education. She also received her Masters Degree in Human Resource Management from LaRoche College in Pittsburgh, PA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Howard L. Fox of Wheeling, her sister and brother-in-law, Nancy L. Fox Balgo and Gerald J. Balgo of Wheeling and a nephew, Dr. Timothy J. Balgo, DDS of Wheeling.

Surviving is R. Douglas Huff of Wheeling, her son Ryan D. Huff and his wife, Megan, of Wheeling, her daughter, Bethany E. Huff Schunn and her husband, Matt of St. Clairsville, OH and her three beloved grandsons, Kellan P. Huff, Logan J. Huff and Jeremiah M. Schunn. Also surviving is her sister-in-law, Joan D. Fox of Wheeling and numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St., Elm Grove, WV where a vigil service will be conducted at 6 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at St. Joseph Cathedral at 10 a.m. with Msgr. Kevin Quirk as the celebrant.

Entombment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
