Bernard “Bernie” DiNardo, 80, of Wellsburg passed away July 13, 2014, at Trinity West in Steubenville, surrounded by his loving family.

Bernie was born on June 7, 1934, in Beech Bottom, WV, son of the late Bernard and Connie Sofranko DiNardo.

Bernie attended St. John’s Catholic School and Wellsburg High School. He served in the United States Air Force. He worked as a coal miner at Hill Top Mining in Wellsburg, WV, Ireland Mine, Moundsville, WV, and Valley Camp Coal Co., Short Creek, WV.

In addition to his parents, Bernie was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Sicheri DiNardo; two sisters, Virginia Ann DiNardo and Patty Czeszticki; and a brother-in-law, Mark Weeks.

Surviving are his four sons: Mark (Carol) DiNardo, Chris (Debbie) DiNardo and Vince DiNardo, all of Wellsburg, WV, and Michael (Chasity) of Wheeling, WV; five grandchildren: Anthony DiNardo, Erin DiNardo, Nicholas DiNardo, Joseph DiNardo and Michaela DiNardo; one step-grandson, Marvin Coen; one great-grandson, Micah Chrzanowski; one step-great-grandson, Brandon Coen; two brothers, Thomas (Sharon) DiNardo and James DiNardo; four sisters: Nancy (Donald) Mitchell, Cathy Weeks, Mary (Bob) Prunty and Pam (James) Boyd; and also many nieces and nephews. Bernie will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.

There will be no visitation. The family will have a private funeral service at Reasner Funeral Home, 1515 Charles St., Wellsburg, WV.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Wellsburg, WV.
