Donald Allen Mager, 95, of Wheeling, W.Va., died Sunday, July 20, 2014, at OVMC.
He was born July 11, 1919, in Wheeling, a son of the late Allen J. and Carolyn (Kreutzer) Mager.
Donald was the president of Building Products Supply Company in Wheeling. He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Wheeling. He was also a member of the Wheeling Lodge #5 AF&AM Masonic Lodge in Wheeling and the Wheeling Elks Lodge #28, where he was past Exalted Ruler. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps, serving in World War II as a master sergeant.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty (Porter) Mager, and one sister, Doris Snyder.
He is survived by two daughters, Donna (Dale) Chaffee of Byesville, Ohio, and Cathy (Richard) Miller of St. Clairsville, Ohio; three granddaughters: Lisa Mitchell, Kristen Jarzecki and Jessica George; two grandsons, Chad Porter and Joshua Bock; and 12 great-grandchildren: Alexis and Lukas Bock, Mickenzie Moore, Liam and Ella George, Judah Jarzecki, Kennedy and Khloe Porter and Geoffry, Cole, Kyle and Gavin Mitchell.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, July 22, 2014, from 4-8 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger St., Wheeling, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Robert Willits officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Wheeling.
