Frances E. Scotka, 88, of Shadyside, Ohio, died Wednesday July 16, 2014, at Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale, W.Va.
Frances was born October 15, 1925, in Stewartsville, Ohio a daughter of the late Lloyd and Florence Harris Helms.
She was a member of the Lincoln Avenue United Methodist Church and a member of the Shadyside Women’s Club.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Anthony Scotka, sisters, Betty Zonker, Norma Jean Gentile and a brother, John Helms.
Surviving her are four sons, Rick (Laurie) Scotka of Shadyside, OH, Randy (Lourdes) Scotka of LaPorte, TX, Robin, (Sue) Scotka of Shadyside, OH and Russell (Rebecca) Scotka of Margate, FL; three brothers, Joseph (Janice) Helms of Shadyside, OH, Jerry (Joni) Helms of Florida, Jim (Trudy) Helms of Michigan and a sister, Judy (Leon) Boston of Powhatan Point, Ohio; grandchildren, Ricky, Ryan, Drew, Travis, and Monica Scotka and Jada Moore; several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Monday from 2-4 p.m. & 6-8 p.m. at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3900 Central Avenue, Shadyside, Ohio where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. Randy Weaver officiating.
Interment follows in Holly Memorial Gardens Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
