Kathleen “Kay” (Mahlke) Knabe, 88, of Cincinnati, OH, formerly of Wheeling, WV, died on December 19, 2013, at home.

She was born September 11, 1925, in Wheeling, WV, to the late Edward Mahlke, Sr. and Marie (Hostutler).

She was a 1943 graduate of Sherrard High School, a member of Crestview Presbyterian Church in West Chester, OH and former member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wheeling, WV. She was a secretary for the former Wheeling Stamping.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald H. Mahlke.

Surviving are her beloved husband of 65 years, Charles “Butch” Knabe, and children, Mark and wife, Barb of Cleveland, OH; Craig and wife, Steff of Pittsburgh, PA; and Karen (Diskin) and husband, Tom of Cincinnati, OH. Grandchildren, Matt of Cleveland, OH; Scott and wife, Sara of Nashville, TN; Michael and wife, Morgan of Pittsburgh, PA; Hannah and husband, Peter of Richmond, VA; Katie and Ryan of Cincinnati, OH. Also her siblings, Edward “Bud” and wife, Helen of McMechen, WV; David and wife, Catherine “Katie” of Warwood WV; Phyllis (Conner) and husband, Ernest of Bethlehem, WV; sister- in-law, Joanne Mahlke of St. Clairsville, OH; and nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held on Dec. 21, 2013.

An interment service will be held on August 2, 2014, at 11:30 a.m. in West Chester, OH.
