Leudvina M. “Bonnie” Bauer, 89, of Wheeling, W.Va., passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2014, in Liza’s Place, Valley Hospice Care Center South, Wheeling.
Bonnie was born January 12, 1925, in Wheeling, a daughter of the late Frank and Christina (Singer) Estep.
She was retired clerk for several Wheeling area Foodlands and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Wheeling.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis H. Bauer in 1984; four sisters, Bea Howell, Bernadette “Bumps” Vermillion, Peggy Gibson and Kathleen Lewis; and two brothers, Lawrence and Sylvester Estep.
Bonnie is survived by her two sons, Daniel E. Bauer and his wife, Michele, and David L. Bauer, all of Wheeling; a sister, Leona Pietro of Wheeling; four grandchildren, Aaron Bauer of Colorado, Justin Bauer and his wife, Christi, of Virginia, Erik Bauer of Colorado and Dara Bauer of Wheeling; a great-grandson, Jackson; a great-grandchild on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger Street, Wheeling, where a vigil service will be held at 7 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, August 4, 2014, at St. Vincent de Paul Church, with the Rev. Edwin Keel as celebrant. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
